Philadelphia Behavior Therapy Association (PBTA) began as a regional affiliate of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT, previously the Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy or AABT). It is a long-standing, interdisciplinary organization that promotes the practice of scientifically-based psychotherapy in the Philadelphia region, and has a tradition of providing education, promoting dissemination and facilitating networking among the local CBT-oriented community.
Membership in PBTA carries many benefits, including: · Free admission to PBTA talks · Free continuing education (CE) credits for psychologists and Pennsylvania-licensed LPCs, LMFTs, and LCSWs · Discounted admission to bi-annual ethics workshop · Networking and interacting with like-minded professionals · Electronic referral directory
CE CREDITS PBTA is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. PBTA maintains responsibility for this program and its content. PBTA is also an authorized provider for Continuing Education credits for Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Clinical Social Workers licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
